Hey there! Here comes another post in which we would like to share one of our promotion activities.

One of the most obvious tools to use in the online business promotion is to let others know about your resource through other online networks. That is why we have made a list of online game directories and free stuff directories, and started acting! Ok – creation of the lists was actually not very interesting indeed…

The procedure of registration is also a bit time consuming (in fact a bit more than just “a bit”:)), since one needs to fill in various forms, describing the online resource. In some cases those directories required friendship – if we want to get our link posted in a directory, we need to post a reciprocal link to their directory at our homepage. Fair enough! So we did – posted few of links on our website, filled in all required registration forms and started to wait…

Some directories responded fast (thanks, guys!), but some made us wait… and it was like waiting for Christmas in June. And all that time we need to go to those directories and check if our website has appeared in the lists (unfortunately, for most of the sites there is no notification system). And then you start to write individual impatient e-mails to the sites: “What a hell is happening?” The most common answer: “Relax, we have a list to check for many years ahead..”:)

So what do we have from this marketing tool? Some catalogues have posted our links, some still will post (?) in the nearest decade.. Was it worth doing? Yes, it was not too much effective, but still worth doing (at least in very long term :)). It takes time, but also lets others know about your resource.

Here is a piece of advice: we have a strong feeling this procedure could have been much more efficient if we have registered QuizBoom.com at the paid directories. So you’d better try them out and tell us if it was worth doing. Since it is all about the cost of your time.
