A few days ago we introduced some artificial intelligence into the QuizBoom.com system, for the time being, though, in alpha mode. The system is following users’ games, and if any suspicious actions are noticed – the system automatically activates check and blocks user’s profile for the verification period. What does the temporary profile block and the verification mean, and why is it necessary at all?

Why is such a system, including checks, necessary?
The number of players is growing – now there are almost 7,000 of us, and during the year we plan to exceed 50,000 registered users! It is important for all of us to make the game fair and protect those 99.99% of users, who play honestly and strive for the best results using their erudition and knowledge. In order to obtain this goal, it is our responsibility:

• to identify the possible violations just in time;
• mitigate any effect;
• and eliminate any repeatability.

It means that one should check all the suspicious games and the players, for the period of verification, should be forbidden access to the game. Yes, practically it means – in order to provide for the comfort of 99.99% of users, we have to entail inconvenience on 0.01% of players. Our aim is to protect the rights of all the fair players.

What does temporary profile block means?
For the verification period, which is normally 2-3 business days, the user cannot log into his/her profile, and cannot play QuizBoom.com game of mind. The user receives an individual letter on the issue.

During that period we ask you to refrain from creating another profile, for it is a major violation of game rules and it can lead to the irreversible deletion of the profile, without any compensation for the chips.

If the profile is temporary blocked, it means that player’s chips are saved at user’s account – they are not deleted and are available in full when the profile is active again. Besides, if at the day when the profile was blocked, the user was playing the game, then, after the profile is unblocked, we return all the chips, which were used in the game.

If your profile is blocked, there is still no occasion for alarm – only in 20% of cases the violations are identified and the result is the deletion of the profile. We advise you merely to wait for 2-3 business days, and if you still do not receive any result of the checks, contact us via e-mail: support@quizboom.com – we provide each player with individual reply.

How is the check performed?
We use several algorithms, consisting of more than 20 parameters. We cannot disclose all for safety reasons, but we can enlarge on several:
• all the games played by the exact player are investigated – how was he/she answering the questions,
• what requests originated from his/her computer and what answers were received,
• which IP addresses were used by the user, and whether these addresses were blocked in past,
• was the connection with other profiles defined.

What happens next?
There are several scenarios possible:
If the violations are not identified, we restore the access to the profile, as well as return all the chips, which were put on stake at the day the profile was blocked.

If the user’s violations are identified, than, depending on the volume and nature, the following actions from QuizBoom.com are possible:

• The profile is restored, but the user receives the warning. In case of further violations the profile will be immediately blocked, with no reimbursement.
• The profile is restored, but the user has to submit the copy of Identification Document in case if there are any suspicions on creation of multiple profiles.
• The profile is not restored, but the user has the possibility to claim and receive the reimbursement of chips in cash. This possibility is not provided according to the Terms and Conditions, but we have decided to show understanding in some controversial issues.
• The profile is not restored and the chips are not reimbursed – in cases of repeated violations or if the nature of violations does not allow for the possibility to trust user again.

We evaluate each case individually and usually contact the user in order to find out his/her opinion and arguments.

What should I do in order not to allow my profile to be blocked?

If you ask such a question, than we can tell for sure that you do not even know what to do to make your profile blocked :) If you joined QuizBoom.com only to spend nice time and earn some money, obeying rules of the game – you do not have to worry about anything.

What should I do if I have encountered potential problem?

In the end, we would like to specify that our aim is the convenience of the major part of users; this is why we are ready to face the other side of the coin and individually work with possible cases of the unfair game, also in cases when it will create a dislike of some individuals against the QuizBoom.com. If speaking in parallels, no one is protesting against security checks in airports, for is aware that it is done in the interests of 99.99% of passengers.

At the same time we are always open for the fair talk, this is why you should know – if your profile is blocked, there was a violation from your side – the honest answer will be the shortest road to your profile restoration! :)
