Probably this is not exactly the plot we ourselves would choose for appearance on the TV news (ours would be a bit more explicit :)). However, this has happened – QuizBoom.com has had its own plot as an evening news sensation of TV3 – one of the biggest TV companies of Latvia.

A short summary for those who didn’t see tonight’s news. After just few weeks of operation our game portal is ranked among the biggest casinos of Las Vegas (well, we might be a bit overrated, to be honest :)). How it all begun - our payment system’s provider Mobilly informed their customers about our game portal via sms by sending a gift by QuizBoom.com – bonus code “Mobilly”. While on the evening news it was claimed that we “advertise gambling”, it was just a gift…of value 30 eurocents…

This raised interest (you can call it “interest”, you can call it “stir”…) Anyway this happening was considered worthy enough for the news - as “a game of luck is illegally advertised”. When taking it serious – we have several things to say regarding this discussion. First of all, if there is anybody to blame than those would be us, not our payment system provider Mobilly. Secondly, we wish to point out that the facts, upon which the plot was based, are not quite true and complete.

Everything in this world is based on definitions – this time definitions are on our side. Our game portal is registered in the EU country Cyprus, where it’s clearly defined as a game of skill. Even without definitions it is obvious that results of our game depend solely on players’ skill and knowledge, and it just isn’t gambling.

Furthermore, we have declared from the very beginning that our aim is to develop international and honest game, where people can compete from all around the world by putting their knowledge to use. We strive to make our service pleasant for each and every, we encourage to express any suggestions or criticisms – it is important for us not to let down. If anybody still feels cheated – write it here, write on the Internet, make plots on TV – we take responsibility for our service.

This, however, is just an unofficial response for our blog readers; while the official response to mass media will follow a bit later. We hope for pleasant communication – we are always open for discussions, especially for those from equal positions…
